C'aero'jillo

Use the Aeropress Espresso recipe ratio (20g fine ground coffee / 60g H20), dark rum (Myers's or Kraken are my favorites), and Licor 43 to make a carajillo-inspired cocktail.

Coffee:

20g
medium roast, balanced espresso blend

Grind Settings:

Fine

Water:

95°C / 203°F
60mL

Equipment:

  1. Follow Aeropress Espresso recipe: Start timer, add 60g of boiling water within 10 seconds
  2. Stir for 10 seconds to ensure all coffee grounds are saturated
  3. At 40 seconds, plunge into an ice filled shaker. If you don't have a shaker, try a travel mug or sealable container
  4. Add 40g dark rum, 20g Licor 43, and shake well
  5. If you don't have Licor 43, I find Kahlua or Tia Maria are tasty alternatives
  6. Strain into a rocks glass with a large ice cube
