Sweet and Smooth as Velvet

Uses a 1:15 ratio and includes bypass water. Brings out sweet caramel and chocolate notes from medium roast beans.

I put the total time at 2:30, but, I use different times depending on the beans I am using, varying between 1:30 and 3:00. I encourage you to experiment with different times to see which give you the best results for your taste.

Equipment:

  1. Prep - Heat water to 190°F/ 88°C
  2. Prep - Place filter in cap and rinse, mostly so that it sticks and doesn't fall
  3. Prep - Prepare the AeroPress in the inverted position
  4. Prep - Add 18g coffee
  5. Start timer and add 150g water
  6. Using a chopstick, stir from center to outer edge in concentric circles. After reaching outer edge, continue stirring, moving back to the center.
  7. Place the cap and flip the AeroPress over your cup
  8. 30 seconds before the total time, swirl the entire AeroPress for about 5 seconds
  9. When total time is reached, press down gently, this should take about 45s
  10. Add 120g of bypass water at 200-215°F (93-100°C) depending on how hot you like your coffee. Enjoy!
